WHO WE ARE
The people of the river of mist have inhabited this area for thousands of years. Proud gatherers and fishermen, the Gitxsan people have thrived off the world around them.
The Ksan Historical Village and Museum opened its doors to the public in 1970, to the beat of ceremonial drums and the songs and dances of the GItxsan dancers. Ksan instantly became a unique cultural development, a one-of-a-kind in Canada.
The seminal importance of the Ksan project represents another step in our determination to provide a form for the Gitxsan and all those actively involved in preserving what we value.
